They looked at the menu boards and Ryan thought the food sounded nicer than what they had at his last school. Taylor continued the tour showing Ryan how the classroom numbering worked so he could find the right rooms easier, with Ryan having already been given his schedule Taylor showed him where each of his classrooms were just to be sure. The tour continued around the outside of the school, it was cold outside but the sun was out and just peaking over the mountains. They ended the tour at Ryan's home-room, they entered together and found his home room teacher and a few of his new classmates. Taylor and Marcus rescued me and my dad and uncle*quot; Ryan replied smiling at Taylor and Marcus. *quot;I heard about it... and we are all very proud of Taylor and Marcus*quot; the teacher said smiling at them all. *quot;Thanks miss... we're gonna go so I can take Marcus to his home-room... see you at break okay?*quot; Taylor said looking to make sure Ryan was ok. *quot;Okay... see you later*quot; Ryan said fist bumping Marcus and Taylor as some of his new classmates came over to say hello. Taylor left with Marcus seeing Ryan shaking hands with some of his new classmates, he felt sure his class would be nice to him. Taylor led Marcus to his home-room and introduced him to his new teacher, Marcus knew some of his classmates from his last school so wasn't so nervous, although he hadn't been friends as such with them he still knew them which made him feel better. Taylor left Marcus reluctantly after making sure he was OK. As much as he wanted to stay with his boyfriend he had to go to his own home-room. Ryan found himself being bombarded with questions about the Tsunami, he answered what he could till the teacher asked them all to sit so she could do the register. Ryan's classmates liked him and took every opportunity to talk to him and help him fit in. After home room they all went to their first lessons and the familiar routine of school started to set in. Soon Ryan found the only difference between this school and his last was this one was smaller, which he liked. At break time they all met up for the 10 minute break and talked about their first lessons, Taylor made sure Ryan and Marcus were both ok with their new classes. He was relieved to find things were going well. Back at home after the boys had left for school, Toni asked Jared to clear out the unused spare bedroom. The room had been used as storage up until now, Toni asked Jared to move everything into the basement so the room could be decorated before putting beds in there. Toni had planned to use that room as a home office when they first moved in which is why up until now it had not been used except for storage. Now the basement was going to get fixed up Toni figured she could have the home office down there instead. Jared offered to decorate the room too so Toni showed him which paint to use and thanked him for helping out. Jared thought for a moment as an idea came into his head. *quot;What if you build a new house?... there is plenty of land here between my house and this one... and that is what Rhett and Reed do right... build houses!*quot; Jared said excited by the idea. *quot;Well that is true... we would have to talk with everyone else first but that idea could work*quot; Sandy replied as she thought about it. *quot;And maybe I could help and learn how to build too?*quot; Jared asked hopefully. *quot;Sure... if we do it more help will be good*quot; Sandy replied. *quot;Ok... let me talk to dad and Patrick first... I wont say anything to the others for now*quot; Jared said knowing it would be better to talk to Shawn in case he didn't want anyone living that close to the house because of the wolf stuff. *quot;Ok but don't pressure them... it has to be their choice*quot; Sandy replied. Sandy really did like the idea if they could buy some land from either Shawn or Patrick, they could build a new house for a lot cheaper than buying one. They could also build a house to suit them and there needs, they had always talked about building an off grid house one day, maybe now was the time to do it. By early afternoon the room was painted and just needed to dry, Sandy and Jared decided to wait and see what Toni wanted to do next in regards of furniture and stuff. They spent quite some time talking and getting to know about each other and their families. At school Taylor was happy to find over lunch that Marcus and Ryan were both happy and getting on well with their class mates. He had found himself getting a little stressed as he worried about his pack mates during the morning. They ate lunch together and then went off for a walk around the school till lessons started again. Tess called Jared and told she was making dinner so not to bother cooking later, she would bring it over when Toni got home. Patrick and Shawn were told they would have one more night in Seymour heights and then the army would take over, they had been busy clearing debris away from power lines so the power company could hook up a big generator after they had isolated the damaged areas of the power network. All injured survivors had been evacuated and the uninjured were being slowly evacuated by army trucks, it still wasn't safe for normal buses or cars to travel on the roads due to wash outs and slick mud making them very slippy. The air was much clearer as the fires from yesterday had all been put out, though the air still stank like a waste site. Food was being brought in by army trucks and helicopters, the work being done was slowly turning from rescue to relief. As much as Patrick and Shawn wanted to help the people of Seymour Heights, they also wanted to go home to their families. After school Ryan was a little excited as he was going to ride a school bus for the first time in his life, all his previous schools had been close to his home in Vancouver, but now he would be riding a small yellow bus with Taylor and Marcus everyday. Jared explained about fixing up the second guest room as they all walked inside, Ryan hugged his mum and told her all about his first day at school. Since none of the boys had homework they played on the games console till Toni got home, shortly followed by Rhett and Reed. The boys had another good day at school and were excited to get home as Shawn and Patrick would be coming home today. Everyone went inside and Tess got them all drinks, they sat down and talked about everything that had happened over the last 3 days. Everyone was happy that Patrick and Shawn were home and that everyone was now safe. Shawn felt happy too, he could see how relaxed and bonded everyone looked, he noticed that Ryan was quite taken with Jared, he wondered if that was why Jared was back home. But he didn't feel the need to get concerned about it, he wasn't sure why, he just didn't. Maybe Patrick was starting to rub of on him he chuckled to himself. After everything he had seen over the last few days he was just glad his boys were safe and well, he realised that was the most important thing. Chapter 18 soon!
